Tennis Coach Singapore

Most people start looking for a tennis coach after a few months of hitting on their own. The rallies are fun, but the same shots keep going into the net, and nobody can tell them why. A good coach answers that question in the first lesson and then gives them a plan to fix it.

TM Tennis Academy | Private Tennis Lesson

A tennis coach from TM Tennis Academy teaches one-hour lessons at your condo court or a booked public court, for children, adults and beginners. Our coaching team includes coaches certified by the Singapore Tennis Association. A private lesson is S$109, and group lessons start at S$45 a person.

What a Tennis Coach Does in a Lesson

A tennis coach is there to see what you cannot see yourself. From the other side of the net, it is easy to spot a late contact point, a grip that slips or feet that stop moving just before the ball arrives. The player usually feels only that the shot went wrong.

The coach then turns what they see into one clear change and a drill that repeats it. Good coaching is less about feeding balls and more about choosing which fault to fix first, because one fixed fault often clears up two or three others.

How Your First Session With a Coach Runs

We start by watching you play. A few minutes of rallying, some serves and a little movement tell the coach far more than any description of your level, so nothing is changed until that is done.

From there your tennis coach picks one or two things to work on and leaves the rest for later. You finish the hour knowing what was fixed, why it matters and what to practise before the next lesson. Our tennis trial class guide explains what a first session covers if you would like to try one before committing.

A Tennis Coach for Beginners and Adults

Beginners gain the most from a tennis coach, because the basics are where habits form. A relaxed grip, a ready position and a simple swing are far easier to learn correctly than to unlearn later.

Adults who return to the game have a different need. The strokes return quickly, but timing and footwork lag behind. Our page on adult tennis lessons explains how we fit lessons around work and family.

Coaching Children and Teenagers

Children learn best when the lesson follows their attention. Drills stay short, the coach changes the activity before boredom sets in, and parents can see progress from one week to the next.

Teenagers who already play at school often use lessons to sharpen one part of their game before a match. Our kids tennis lessons explain the options for younger players, including lessons with friends of the same age.

One Coach to Yourself or a Shared Lesson

Some players want the coach’s full attention, and others enjoy learning with a partner or a small group. Both work, and the right choice depends on how fast you want to progress and how you like to learn.

With private tennis lessons, every ball you hit is watched and the hour follows your goals. In a group of three or four players, the coach shares the hour, the price per person is lower and there is always someone to rally with.

Where Your Tennis Coach Teaches

We currently do not have a tennis court of our own, so the coach comes to a court near you. Many students train at their own condo court, which saves travel time and is often free for residents.

If you have no condo court, we can help you book a public court through ActiveSG, or you can book one yourself and your tennis coach meets you there. Court fees are paid separately from the lesson, unless we agree otherwise when you book.

Who Our Coaches Are

Our coaching team includes coaches certified by the Singapore Tennis Association. World Tennis, the international federation for the sport, runs its coach education courses with national associations, and coaches who pass are certified by their own national association.

Every tennis coach on our team works from the same approach: watch first, change one thing at a time and explain why. We may assign or change the coach for a lesson, but each coach works from the notes of your earlier sessions, so nothing has to be explained twice.

How Often to Train With a Coach

Weekly lessons suit most players. There is enough time between sessions to practise, and not so much that the last lesson is forgotten. Players preparing for a match or a school team often add a second session for a few weeks.

What happens between lessons matters as much as the lesson itself. A correction practised once or twice before the next session sticks. Our guide on how often to train with a tennis coach looks at the question in more detail.

Choosing the Right Tennis Coach

Qualifications matter, but so does how a tennis coach teaches. Look for someone who watches before correcting, explains each change in plain words and adjusts a drill when it is not working.

Patience matters most with beginners and children, while experienced players need sharper technical and tactical feedback. When you message us, tell us your level, your preferred court and what you want from tennis, and we will suggest a coach and a weekly slot.

Frequently Asked Questions

True Mastery Academy Tennis Court Booking

Can I ask for a different coach?

Yes. Tell us what is not working and we will look at another coach for your lessons. We assign coaches based on your level, goals and timing, so the more you tell us, the better the match.

Please book at least three working days ahead. That gives us time to arrange the coach and, if you need one, the court, especially for popular evening and weekend slots.

If TM Tennis Academy or the coach cancels a lesson, it is rescheduled at no extra cost to you. We will contact you to agree a new date and time that suits you.

If a lesson is stopped within the first 30 minutes, only a 30-minute fee is charged. If it is stopped after 30 minutes, the full fee applies, and any remaining time may be carried forward to another session.
